Nocturnal Experience + Dinner

Discover the enchanting nocturnal wonders of Costa Rica with our specially curated evening tour. Your journey begins with a 30-minute drive leading to the quaint village of La Tigra. Here, you’ll be warmly welcomed by the Méndez Family, local agriculturists who dedicate part of their land to the conservation and natural regeneration of flora and fauna.

Embark on an exciting 600-meter walk through a regenerating forest patch on their property. This trail is uniquely designed with water mirrors—reflective water bodies that enhance your chances of spotting an array of nocturnal wildlife, including various bird species, mammals, insects, amphibians, and bats.

Our path will guide us around these water mirrors to a vibrant frog sanctuary, a haven for natural regeneration and reproduction of several frog species. This sanctuary is home to a fascinating variety of frogs, from the tiny Hammer Frog to the sizable Bullfrog, as well as the visually striking Red-eyed Tree Frog and the translucent Glass Frog.

After the walking tour, indulge in a traditional Costa Rican dinner, freshly prepared in a wood-fired oven and savored under the serene glow of the San Carlos plain’s nighttime lights. Once dinner concludes, we will return to La Fortuna, marking the end of a memorable evening.
