Coffee & Chocolate Tour
Spend two hours at the Don Juan Coffee plantation in Pavas learning how Costa Rica’s two most famous crops go from plant to cup. The tour starts with the coffee side: a guide walks you through the plant’s lifecycle from seed onward and explains the role coffee has played in the country’s economic and social history. You’ll then sit down to a freshly brewed cup of Don Juan coffee with traditional snacks.
From there you move to the chocolate portion, where you’ll follow the process step by step, from cocoa bean to the finished product, with samples to taste along the way. It’s a hands-on, informative visit rather than a hike, and it works well for families; children 0-6 go free.
Included: round-trip hotel transport, a professional guide, entry to both the coffee and chocolate attractions, and the coffee and chocolate samples. Departures run at 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00 and 16:00. Bring comfortable walking shoes, rain gear, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat and sunglasses.
