Can I customize a package?
Yes — every itinerary shown here is a starting point. Hotels, pacing, and activities can all be adjusted to fit your preferences and budget.
Are these private trips?
Your transfers are always private. Guides are included specifically for tours and excursions, and not every excursion is private — some are shared with other travelers. Each itinerary clearly marks every excursion as “Private” or “Shared,” so you’ll always know what to expect before you book.
When is the best time to visit?
Costa Rica has two main seasons — the dry season (December to April), with the most sunshine, and the green season (May to November), with lusher scenery, fewer crowds, and lower rates — but the ideal timing really depends on which regions your itinerary covers:
- Discover Nature’s Embrace: December–April is driest and best for Rio Perdido and the Tortuga Island boat trip; the Arenal and cloud-forest days are pleasant year-round, and the green season brings fuller waterfalls.
- Discover the Wonders of Costa Rica: Tortuguero’s Caribbean coast sees rain year-round (relatively drier around February–March and September–October, and prime season for green turtle nesting roughly July–October); Arenal and Manuel Antonio are sunniest December–April, while Monteverde’s cloud forest stays cool and misty all year.
- Enchanting Family Vacation in Costa Rica: this route stays in Guanacaste, Costa Rica’s driest region — December–April brings the most reliable beach weather and calmest seas for the Tamarindo Bay kayak and snorkel day.
- Family Adventure in Costa Rica: combines Tortuguero’s year-round Caribbean rainfall (with a turtle-nesting season around July–October) with Arenal and Manuel Antonio, which are driest and sunniest December–April.
- Honeymoon Oasis Costa Rica: December–April brings the clearest volcano views at Arenal and the calmest seas for the catamaran sunset tour at Las Catalinas; Monteverde’s cloud forest stays cool and misty year-round.
- Enchanted Honeymoon in Costa Rica: like our other Tortuguero–Arenal–Manuel Antonio route, expect Caribbean rain year-round at Tortuguero and the sunniest conditions at Arenal and Manuel Antonio from December to April.
- Eco Luxury Escape: the Golfo Dulce and Osa Peninsula are Costa Rica’s rainiest region with no true dry season, though December–April is comparatively drier and easiest for travel — and falls within one of the two annual humpback whale migrations (roughly December–April and July–October) that make this coast a year-round whale-watching destination.
